ABOUT DAYNA
I’m Dayna — founder of State of Performance, coach, and hybrid athlete.
With a background in competitive swimming, CrossFit, triathlon, and now professional bodybuilding, I know what it means to train hard, chase big goals, and evolve through every chapter of performance.
But it hasn’t always been smooth.
As a young athlete, I was unknowingly underfuelling — constantly training, constantly pushing, but never giving my body what it truly needed. That lack of knowledge caught up with me. I eventually ruptured my Achilles — a direct result of years spent overtraining and under-eating. It forced me to slow down, reassess, and shift direction.
That injury was a turning point. I stepped away from endurance sports and CrossFit and turned my focus inward — on rebuilding, recovering, and understanding how to truly support performance through strength training and proper fuelling. That path led me into bodybuilding, and in my very first show, I turned professional — something most people don’t achieve in a debut season.
But for me, it wasn’t about the title — it was about adapting, continuing to uphold my competitive nature and work with my body, not against it.
I bring that same mindset to the way I coach.
I’ve also worked as a Registered Nurse for 8 years (Orthopaedic/Rehabilitation), and I’m currently completing further studies in Sports Nutrition. This combination of clinical knowledge, real-world experience, and athletic performance gives me a unique lens when it comes to helping women thrive — physically, mentally, and hormonally.
Now, I help women who are ready to break the cycle of overtraining, under-eating, and spinning their wheels — and finally step into their strongest, most capable selves.

We cut through the BS and give you clear, practical support to fuel your body with confidence and finally get the results you’ve been working for.

You can choose to learn how to track and manage your own macros with our support, or opt for a more guided approach with structured meal plans delivered via our State of Performance Nutrition App. Whichever path you take, we’ll help you understand your nutrition, develop sustainable habits, and create a plan that evolves with you over time.

Our custom nutrition platform, is designed to make eating for your goals simple and sustainable. Your coach will set your nutrition profile to align with specific calorie and macro targets. From there, you can choose from a library of 100s of macro-aligned recipes that automatically match your plan — no tracking or number crunching required on your end. Just select meals you enjoy and feel confident knowing you're still on track with your coach there to review, assist and educate along the way at your weekly check in.
WEEKLY COACHING CHECK INS

Weekly check-ins are the glue that holds your coaching experience together. This is where your coach reviews your check-in form, assesses your progress, and provides personalised feedback to keep you aligned with your goals.
Most responses are delivered via video, giving you a detailed and supportive breakdown of your wins, work-ons, and tailored insights around training, nutrition, physiology, stress, recovery, and time management. We also review any training footage you submit — offering technique analysis for your lifts to help you improve movement quality, build confidence, and reduce injury risk.
It’s not just a check-in — it’s a chance to learn, grow, and stay empowered throughout your journey.
Based on your week, your coach will either set clear focus points to keep you progressing or make any necessary adjustments to your training or nutrition plan to ensure it continues to work with your lifestyle — not against it.

Each week, you’ll complete a comprehensive check-in form covering key areas such as training, nutrition, recovery, stress, sleep, and mindset. This allows your coach to get a full picture of your progress — not just the data, but how you’re truly feeling and functioning.
We offer two types of check-ins: Full Check-Ins and Mini Check-Ins (Self-Reflections).
Full Check-Ins are completed bi-weekly and led by Head Coach Dayna. These include detailed video feedback where your coach reviews your form, lifts (if submitted), and overall progress. You'll receive tailored coaching around performance, body composition, stress, and recovery, along with clear action steps for the week ahead.
Mini Check-Ins (Self-Reflections) take place during the weeks in between full check-ins and are reviewed by our support coaches, Renee and Izzy (with Daynas input and oversight). These are an important part of helping you develop independence and ownership over your journey. You’ll reflect on your week, what you’ve learned from previous check-ins, and what you’re focusing on moving forward. Renee and Izzy then review your reflections and provide feedback or make any necessary adjustments to your plan.
At State of Performance, we don’t offer mindless coaching. We’re here to educate and empower — helping you build long-term strategies, critical thinking, and true confidence in managing your own health and fitness. These weekly touchpoints are designed to help you grow, evolve, and eventually feel fully in control of your body and performance.
